 in class the teacher first talked about black history month and the person of the day today we learned a little bit of colin Powell for black history month we watched a video about him and we had to write down something we had learned i had learned that he was the first African American to be chairman and secretary of state. after that he brought an assignment that we have to turn in by Tuesday. the assignment is a book review based on the book we have been reading in class.

 i was absent

today the teacher wasn't in class and we had a substitute teacher she had instructions left her to give to us and where we can find todays assignment. the assignment was in common lit we had to answer some questions about the resistance of the Vietnam war and that was about all that we had to do.

 in class the teacher had told us that we were to write what he put on the board they were notes it was t-chart and some ways of how to respect or disrespect someone's culture

 today in class the teacher at the start of class wanted to talk about black history month but specifically about one person his name is Benzel Washington. i personally didn't know who he was this was the first time i heard this name. the teacher then asked us what did we already know about the individual, but no one really seemed to know much about him the teacher then told us two facts about him one was that he was the first African American to win "Best Actor" since 1963 against a white man and that he was never seen kissing a white woman on screen.

today in class the teacher told us that we were going to read page 136 up to page 146 after the class was done reading the instructed us to get into groups of 2. the teacher then passed question cards he gave two per person and one for both of the individuals in that group. i forgot what questions i had but we all had a random number question and he called from top to bottom so if he called your number, you would answer the question and as a class we would discuss and see how our answers would be different or similar to ours.
